The Sacred Is In The Ordinary

Inspirational Quote – The Sacred Is In The Ordinary

The great lesson is that the sacred is in the ordinary, that it is to be found in one’s daily life, in one’s neighbors, friends and family, in one’s backyard. – Abraham Maslow

Just How Important Are People?

Just How Important Are People?

people_into_life_blessings_lessons

This is a popular and catchy Christian or Inspirational quote by Mother Teresa that says

“Some people come into your life as blessings, others come into your life as lessons.” (Mother Teresa)

To a Christian, people are everything. We are told to love our neighbor as our selves. We are taught that “done it unto one of the least of these my brethren . . .” and so on. But does that mean we need to be around all kinds of people regardless of what their like?

I don’t think so. We do need to love all people and pray for our enemy and serve them etc., but that doesn’t mean we have to be friends with them. If “thy right eye offend thee then pluck it out.” That parable is given to teach us that we should cast away from us any unclean or unrighteous thing that could tear us down and hurt us in any way. But it doesn’t teach us to be unkind to those types of people. We still need to love them and serve them as we are able. Some people come into our life to bless us and help us become better people and to become our friends or family. Other people bless our lives as a teaching aid. That doesn’t mean we have to pal around with them if they tend to tear us down.

So just how important are people to our lives? They are very important to bless our lives with kindness and support while others provide us a chance to serve and grow by our association with them.

We need to keep ourselves uplifted and renewed so that we have the spiritual power to help those in need and live as good examples to those around us.

Dark Clouds Don’t Always Mean Rain

Inspirational Quotes

Dark Clouds Don’t Always Mean Rain

dark_clouds_dont_always_mean_rainI love this meme. “Dark clouds don’t always mean rain. As someone with Fibromyalgia, I look at the weather closely because I know that most of the time dark cloud mean I will experience more pain than usual.  Sometimes I wake up in the morning and my body tells me their are dark clouds over head or even that their is snow or rain on the ground.

I look out the window and what do I see? Snow, rain or a wind storm with dark clouds over head. I know it’s going to be a bad day.

But, every once in a while, for me with my illness, the dark clouds don’t always mean I will experience more pain or sickness that day. And so it is in life. Dark clouds don’t always mean rain.

Some times dark clouds are a nice shade from the hot sun. Giving us a reprieve from the heat of a long summers heat wave. When we see dark clouds let’s not rush to judgment. The dark clouds may actually be a blessing in disguise.

Master Of My Destiny

Governments my try and suppress me. Temptations may try and hinder me. Persecutions may try and hurt me. Jealousy may try and repress my destiny. But I am the master of my destiny. It matters not what others do to me, say about me or feel about me. For with my mind I am my destiny. (Callahan)

Don’t Give Up

When you’re lonely, feeling sad and discouraged don’t give up. When your broken, bloody and  beaten down, don’t quit. When your about to be swallowed up in the pit of despair fear not. For our Creator who holds the world in the palm of His hand is holding you in the other hand. (Callahan)

Let me refer you to a favorite verse of mine in Isaiah 53:4. It said”Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.” Not only did Jesus pay the demands for justice so we can repent of our sins, The Savior also bore our grief’s and carried our sorrows. This means that The Anointed One has first hand knowledge of what we feel and how we feel.

Christ knows how it feels for us to be lonely. He knows how we feel when we are discouraged, beaten or bloodied. He has been through all of those emotions we go through. There is no feeling or emotion or experience we have had or ever will have that Jesus has not felt. This means we can turn to our Creator in prayer, through the name of Jesus Christ and receive the healing balm of his grace and mercy.

We really are being held in the palm of His hand.
