Love As I Have Loved You

Love As I Have Loved You

There are many recurring themes throughout the scriptures and the gospel message. One of the biggest themes is the idea of love. We need to love God with all our heart, might, mind and strength. We need to love our neighbor as ourselves. Love the sinner not the sin and the list keeps going.

Do we love God? If you are reading this then I think the answer is yes. I know I love God.  Do you love your self? That could be tricky but you need to love yourself. Do you love you neighbors? Neighbors are defined as everyone else from your spouse and kids to the person driving right next to you on the highway.

The gospel is a message of love. If you answered no to any of these questions then ask God for help in loving everyone.

Created In the Image Of God

Created In the Image Of God

It makes no sense that our caring,  loving Creator would create us for failure, sadness or fear. We are destined to be creatures of success, happiness and fearless. It is our divine birthright to be successful, happy, fearless and strong. (Callahan)

I HAVE ENGRAVEN THEE UPON THE PALMS OF MY HANDS

I HAVE ENGRAVEN THEE UPON THE PALMS OF MY HANDS

palms_graven_hands

Christ suffered for us in the garden of Gethsemane and upon the cross of Calgary. As a sign of His suffering Christ retains scars in his feet, hands and side. Christ will never forget us because He suffered for our sins and our infirmities and pains and sorrows…

He wears that sign on his hands and so when He says I have engraved thee upon my hands, he is saying I know who you are and I am with always, even until the end of the world.

If we trust Jesus, that He will do all that He says He will do for us along with serving Jesus by serving others then we will become like Jesus.

The Gospel As Taught By The Orchard

The Gospel As Taught By The Orchard

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (John 15:2)

If you had to choose which branch you wanted to be, which would you choose?  A barren branch that bears no fruit or the tree that bears fruit? If you bear no fruit then you will be cast away. If you bear fruit you will be purged so that you may bear more fruit. Is this a tough choice? Be cast away or purged so that you can be weighed down with more fruit?

Considering we were all placed here, on earth, to bear fruit then the choice seems clear. We want to bear more fruit.  The road may be tough but it will be worth it. We will be purged to become stronger to bear up the additional fruit.

Destined for Success – In Gods Image

Destined for Success – In Gods Image

It makes no sense that our caring, loving Creator would create us for failure, sadness or fear. We are destined to be creatures of success, happiness and to be fearless. It is our divine birthright to be successful, happy, fearless and strong. After all, we were created in Gods image.  (Callahan)

God Knows Our Hearts

God Knows Our Hearts

There is a verse somewhere in the scriptures that says God knows the intents and feelings of our heart. This is really important for those of us who really do have good intentions but often cannot follow through with them.

They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. But since God really knows our heart and our desires (for good or bad) then we can take comfort in knowing that we will receive a righteous judgment. As long as our heart is right with God on our desires to do good and to serve or help others. Just make sure you have righteous desires and sleep well.

Of course, the opposite is true as well, God knows your heart so you cannot use the excuse of inactivity by this rational because God knows…  Always make sure your heart is right and true before Heavenly Father.

God Bless…

Free To Be Awesome

Free To Be Awesome

When Father in Heaven sent us to earth He gave us our free agency. With that blessing comes major consequences that can be wonderful or awful depending on the choices we make.  To help us learn wise use of free will we face obstacles. Some of those obstacles are placed in our way by virtue of being on earth, other obstacles get in our way by others people’s use of freewill.

In our quest to become awesome we need to overcome obstacles and we need to have a plan and we need to pursue it.  Being awesome is different for everyone.  You determine what being awesome is for you. But just know that being awesome will bother some people. Some just don’t want others to be awesome.  The most miserable force on earth comes from that evil one, Satan. He will do whatever it takes to thwart your happiness.

We need to over come all obstacles in our goal to be awesome.  That would be the devil and that would be circumstances in life and it could also be other people who like to put others down to make themselves feel a hollow and short-lived happiness.  We need to overcome and remove such obstacles. To be awesome we only want other awesome people or awesome situations in our life.  With our free will we can do that. We can, as the cute little aphorism states “turn that frown upside down”.

If you want to be awesome but someone won’t let you then that is an obstacle to be removed.   You have the freedom to choose to do that so that you can get back on the road to being awesome. It’s your choice, there is always a choice.  Always keep in mind you are free to be anything you want to be, happy, strong or awesome etc.  To cut someone out of your life sounds harsh, but if they are intent on trying to drag you down then it might be a good idea.  It’s always a good idea to kick the devil out of our lives.

As we grow in our quest to be awesome, we develop an awesome strength.  Who knows, down the line of our life we may have the awesome strength that we need to be a strong positive and awesome influence on the lives of those who once wanted to tear us down.

You are free to be as awesome as you desire. (Callahan)
